Team Fortress 2 is a team-based first-person shooter multiplayer video game developed and published by Valve Corporation. It is the sequel to the 1996 mod Team Fortress for Quake and its 1999 remake, Team Fortress Classic. The game was released in October 2007 as part of The Orange Box video game bundle for Windows and Xbox 360. A PlayStation 3 version followed in December 2007 when The Orange Box was ported to the system. TF2 is a class-based game with nine character classes. Players can play as one of these classes in multiplayer matches to accomplish team goals such as capturing the enemy's flag or planting a bomb at their base. The game also features a single-player campaign, set up like a series of episodic missions, with the player controlling different classes in each.
